ظاهرة انتقام نهاية العام الدراسي يمزق الطلاب كتبهم ويفعلون أكثر من ذلك لماذا ؟ The phenomenon of end-of-year revenge: Students tear up their books and do even more. Why?
Introduction: The phenomenon of a lack of belonging,
especially in pre-university education, is growing. It has manifestations,
causes, and consequences, and solutions exist. The issue is important and
serious because it is escalating. The problem is behavioral and societal before
it is educational. For example, tearing up books and vandalizing furniture at
the end of the school year is not merely mischief, but rather an expression of
psychological revenge by the student against an institution to which they feel
no belonging.
The Paradox:
1. The material losses, such as broken chairs and
malfunctioning fans, are borne by the taxpayer (who is often the parent).
2. In many countries, students maintain a connection with the
school, and the school becomes a center for summer activities.
3. This phenomenon is not simply mischief; it is a cry that
says our children lack a sense of belonging, yet it is allowed to persist and
recur annually.
Phenomena:
These phenomena are numerous and well-known, documented
through photos and videos on social media. Examples include tearing up books,
breaking chairs, vandalizing public and technical equipment, and students'
accumulated fights being resolved on the last day of exams. This is a clear
display of hostility towards the school building, books, and the students
themselves.
Causes:
These causes are numerous and well-known, including psychological pressure on students, economic circumstances, private tutoring and learning centers, prioritizing material concerns over moral ones, the erosion of ethics and the application of religious teachings, a loss of trust in the school and education system, and weak collaboration between families, schools, places of worship, and civil society organizations.
Consequences:
The consequences are numerous and affect students,
teachers, schools, and society as a whole. These include a generation lacking a
genuine sense of belonging, a generation that doesn't know how to preserve
public and private property, a financial burden on the state and parents, a
passive approach to the phenomenon by officials and the community, a worsening
situation each year, a decline in ethics, and a rapidly accelerating societal
breakdown.
Solutions:
1. How do we raise our children to respect books, school,
and society?
2. Involve elites, experts, and sociologists in studying and
addressing these phenomena.
3. Launch an initiative to recycle textbooks – leave your seat
intact for your siblings after you.
4. Increase collaboration between families, educational
institutions, and religious institutions.
5. Require vandals to repaint their classrooms or repair the
damage as a condition for receiving their certificates.
6. Implement a system of rewards and punishments after
addressing the issues and grant educational institutions the authority to
implement corrective measures.
